หลังจากประสบความสำเร็จไปแล้วกับอัลบั้มแรก Mellow Motif - ในช่วงปีที่ผ่านมา Mellow Motif ได้ออกแสดงโชว์ตามงานแจ๊ซเฟสติวัลและเวที ใหญ่ๆมากมาย ในหลายประเทศในเอเซีย นับตั้งแต่ สิงคโปร์ มาเลเซีย ไปจนถึง ญี่ปุ่น จนประสบความสำเร็จ และได้รับการ ยอมรับอย่างรวดเร็ว – ในอัลบั้มชุด “สบายดี” นี้ Mellow Motif แสดงให้เห็นถึงความเข้าใจที่ลึกซึ้งใน Swing traditions ของแจ๊ซ โดยที่โอ่งได้นำเอาเพลงเก่าซึ่งเป็น classic จากหลายๆแห่ง มาทำใหม่ใช้คอนเซ็ปว่า “Swing Everything” – นับตั้งแต่ Jazz Standards ซึ่งเป็นที่รู้จักอย่าง “Lullaby of Birdland” โดย George Shearing (1952), “I Won’t Dance” จาก มิวสิคัลเรื่อง Three Sisters (1934), “Happy Talk” จากหนังเรื่อง South Pacific (1949), ไปจนถึง “Frim Fram Sauce” โดย Joe Ricardel ซึ่งใน arrangement ของเพลงนี้ยังมีการใช้ เครื่องครัวโซโล่อีกด้วย นอกจากเพลงสากลที่นำมาเรียบเรียงใหม่แล้ว Mellow Motif ยังสามารถดึงเสน่ห์ ของแนวดนตรีแนว Swing นี้ มาผสมผสาน และเรียบเรียงใหม่ในเพลงไทยซึ่งนับว่า เป็นเพลงฮิตอมตะ อย่าง “รู้สึกสบายดี” และ “เธอหมุนรอบฉัน ฉันหมุนรอบเธอ” ของ ประภาส ชลศรานนท์ ได้อย่างลงตัว แถมท้ายด้วยเพลงที่โอ่งและยูจีนลงมือเขียนเอง เป็นครั้งแรกอย่าง “Kit Kat” – ซึ่งเป็นเพลง scat แต่งใหม่ซึ่งมีแรงบันดาลใจมาจาก เพลงแจ๊ซที่ชื่อว่า “Hershey Bar”ทุกๆ เพลงในอัลบั้มนี้มีความพิเศษและคาแรคเตอร์ที่โดดเด่นเฉพาะตัว ทุกๆ เพลงได้รับการเอาใจใส่ และได้ผ่านการกลั่นกรองทางความคิดมาเป็นอย่างดี อีกทั้งอัลบั้ม “สบายดี” นี้ ได้มีการฟีเจอร์ นักดนตรี แจ๊ซระดับแนวหน้า ของประเทศไทย สมาชิกในวงที่ร่วมทำงานกับ Mellow Motif ในอัลบั้มนี้ นอกจาก โอม นฤป เพชรรักษ์ จากวง Exotic Percussion ซึ่งร่วมงานกันมาตั้งแต่อัลบั้มแรกแล้ว ยังได้มือกลอง และมือเบส แจ๊ซชั้นนำของเมืองไทย อย่าง โอ๋ พรชาติ วิริยภาค และ ฮง ชนุตร์  เตชธนนันท์ รวมทั้งยังได้โซโลอิสต์รับเชิญ อย่าง มิ๊นต์ จากวง Infinity (Saxophone) และ ต้น กัปตันโลมา (Guitar) มาทำให้ซาวน์ ของวงมีความ หนักแน่นยิ่งกว่าเดิมอีกด้วยProduction ทั้งหมด ตั้งแต่การอัดไปจนถึงการ Mix และ Mastering ได้รับการดูแล โดย วู๊ดดี้ ศราวุธ พรพิทักษ์สุข ซาวน์เอ็นจิเนียร์ ระดับรางวัล Grammy Award - เป็นการอัดแบบคุณภาพสูง 96K 24bit เพื่อเอาใจนักฟังเพลง โดยเฉพาะ และพร้อมสำหรับการผลิตแผ่น Audiophile”สบายดี” แสดงให้เห็นถึงการเติบโตของวงที่เด่นชัด นับจากอัลบั้มแรกเมื่อหนึ่งปีที่ผ่านมา คุณภาพเทียบเท่ามาตรฐานสากลตั้งแต่งานเพลงไปจนถึง การทำโปรดัคชั่น เรียกได้ว่าเป็นอัลบั้มซึ่งนอกจาก จะเอาใจแฟนเพลงทั้งชาวไทยและเทศแล้ว ยังถูกใจนักฟังคอแจ๊ซยิ่งกว่าเดิมอีกด้วย!

Switching from a jazz and bossa nova hybrid that stylized its first album to traditional swing style, Mellow Motif releases “Sabuy Dee” – an album with a tight focus in sound and musical direction. It is a whole new exploration of the Swing tradition in jazz and a blend of eastern and western music. Together Natasha (vox) and Eugene (pf.) picked classics across eras and genres, took them apart, and re-created them with a personal touch and unique arrangements. Inspired by these selections, they also composed original tunes for the first time to complement this concept. Together with Woody Pornpitaksuk, a Grammy Award winning sound engineer, Mellow Motif takes the leap and experiments with new, vintage sound in “Sabuy Dee”. The elaborate setting and microphone placements of the recording space along with the 96kHz 24bit recording technology has made “Sabuy Dee” one of the finest quality in the market for standard audio albums today.“Sabuy Dee” consists of popular classics such as “Happy Talk” (from the movie South Pacific), Jerome Kern’s “I Won’t Dance” (from the 1934 musical Three Sisters), an all-time Shearing’s classic “Lullaby of Birdland”(1952), Gershwin’s “They All Laughed” (1937), and Joe Ricardel’s most favorite “Frim Fram Sauce”. Mellow Motif also threw in two surprise arrangements for their Thai fans – “I Feel Sabuy Dee” and “Tur Moon Rob Chun, Chun Moon Rob Tur” from the all-time favorite Prapas Cholsaranont’s songbook. Apart from all the classic picks, Mellow Motif also presents their very first original compositions – “Kit Kat”, a scat-song inspired by Anita O’Day’s scat version of the standard tune “Hershey Bar”. The other original, “A Swing for Singha”, is a swing tune composed exclusively for their sponsor, Singha Corporation. Featured soloists in this album include Ton Teerapong Sawaswongse on the guitar (Captain Loma) and Mint Passakorn Suksantipap on the Saxophone (Infinity).
